In ARMY J.R.O.T.C you will learn: How to Read maps, to develop better communication skills, drill, first aid, of current events, military history, american heritage, the constitution, and rights and responsibilities of citizenship.
The Jefferson County High School(JCHS) J.R.O.T.C. program is an honor unit, with distinction and we are very proud to be that.

***All of our chain of command hasn't been determined yet, as this is the new school year of (2004- 2005) and we haven't decided who will fill all of the positions.When this is decided, the list of the Chain of Command will be updated according to new statistics.***
At J.C.H.S., you can earn what is called a beret. A beret is a hat, at our school, worn for membership and excellence in ColorGuard and Drill Team. They are worn in place of the green garrison cap, although, you are still permitted to wear the garrison cap if you prefer.You may only wear it if you are a member of, and/or have commanded two or more colorguards AND are a member of the drill team.
What teams and activities does J.R.O.T.C. offer?
J.R.O.T.C. offers activities such as drill team, color guard, rifle team, armed color guard, and armed drill team. Other optional teams may include the raider teams. These are all conducted in after school practices each week. At the end of the school year, J.R.O.T.C. offers a one year military training camp stay for leadership, education, first aid, map reading, and survival skills training. You will earn a ribbon for all of these.
